Jeneration

The Reform Movement was instrumental in setting up Jeneration, a pluralist initiative for students and young adults. Jeneration is now working in partnership with Liberal Judaism and is also collaborating with the Assembly of Masorti Synagogues on specific projects where collective interests are better served by working together.

Jeneration works in two ways, providing intense, challenging opportunities for people to get together, learn, pray and travel. Jeneration also seeks out and works with young Jews to support them in creating new initiatives.

Student Fieldworkers work with Jewish students, providing progressive and pluralist opportunities to meet and socialise, pray and learn. In addition, Jeneration campus reps work closely with JSocs to add value to student provision in universities across the country. Jeneration provides them with support and inspiration to make this happen.

Off campus, Jeneration's focus is on tefillah: prayer and spirituality and Jewish learning. Jeneration has supported independent minyanim, regular learning with rabbis and teachers from across the communal spectrum and an annual residential Beit Midrash with Reform, Liberal and Masorti rabbis. A Jeneration Project Worker has overseen collaborations with Jewish Book Week and the Jewish tent at Glastonbury and a major focus of work has been 'I'm Jewish My Partner Isn't', a programme for people in mixed-faith relationships.

Jeneration.org is a showcase and portal which explores new ways of being Jewishly engaged. Comprehensive events listings show the full extent of opportunities for involvement in Jewish life in Britain today and users can find out more about Jeneration's work with students, Jewish learning and tefillah.
